A well known German Company from the health care industry, is looking for the best professional to lead and manage all the commercial activities within Spain & Portugal market, executing the strategic business plan and ensuring opportunities of growth are met and maximizing profitability.

Reporting: Group Managing Director

Location: Barcelona

Purpose of the job:
To represent the Company and its products within Spain and Portugal market as well as the sales office organisation, promoting sustainable turnover growth, while achieving financial results that support the Company to keep and further develop its market position

Main Responsibilities:

1.Sales Performance:
- Increase sales and market share
-Channel sales through a distribution network and promote products at end-user level
-Manage existing channels of distribution and find new ones
-Suggest and manage promotional and marketing activities
-Promote the brand in the market

2.Define strategy regarding distribution:

-Develop pricing and rebate system to the needs of the local market
-Promote collaboration between distributor and Company sales force
-Balance the need to grow and be present in the market with keeping distributors interest for the Company products.
-Monitor changes in distribution channels and adapt strategy

3.Manage a sales force:
-Develop regional strategies with the sales team
-Set goals and targets
-Guide and control activities
-Monitor performance
-Manage and coach the team

4.Organisation:
-Manage internal staff
-Manage and optimize procedures
-Manage contracts
-Manage local suppliers

5.Cost/ Financial:
-Develop yearly budget for all costs as proposal to head office
-Control costs vs. budget
-Manage all local suppliers, payments and operative cash management
-Control debtors regularly
-Balance the need for competitive pricing with maintaining healthy margins
-Monthly and year end financial reporting

Education:

•University degree (industrial engineer or similar)
•MBA or equivalent would be an advantage

Job Requirements (skills & competencies):

•Proven experience as Managing Director, Commercial director or other managerial position
•Deep knowledge of the distribution industry
•Strong sales background
•Relevant industry experience and in depth knowledge of the market
•Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
•Strong entrepreneurial skills and a natural ability to spot opportunities for revenue generation
•Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company

•Excellent organizational and leadership skills
•Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
•Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
•Independent mindset for the the day to day activities, while accepting and following guidelines
•Fluency in English being Portuguese strongly valuable
